Target Audience: Younger audiences ignorant to World War II
Purpose: The Warblitz group is an organization of volunteer history buffs who document, film and interview WWII veterans. The interviews are provided to the Library of Congress through the Veterans Oral History Project, and also intended to be used within a future documentary. Warblitz volunteers realized that by compiling a large database of oral and pictorial histories, they could actually recreate missing historical facts or link veterans across the world. The form of the helmeted camera-man was lifted from an original WWII poster depicting a man behind a machine gun.
